Dark Star Orchestra Biography

Dark Star Orchestra brings its Grateful Dead-inspired show to the Paramount Theatre - Huntington in Huntington, New York, on November 28, 2026. The date is part of the band's Dark Star Orchestra 2026 Tour.

Formed in Chicago in 1997, Dark Star Orchestra set out to keep the Grateful Dead's music alive through carefully researched recreations of complete historical setlists. Instead of relying on a fixed greatest-hits sequence, the band builds each performance around a particular Grateful Dead show and reveals the source after playing it. With more than 2,300 performances, DSO has become a prolific touring act with a devoted, multigenerational audience.

Fans can expect the spirit of a classic Dead concert, with extended playing and a lively atmosphere shaped by the band's two-set format. Past setlists have included songs such as “Dark Star,” “Franklin's Tower,” “Bird Song,” “China Cat Sunflower” and “Deal,” though the selections for Huntington have not been announced. The supplied event information does not specify an opening act or the exact setlist for this date.

Huntington's intimate downtown setting gives concertgoers a chance to pair the show with an evening in the village. For ticketsuniondale.com visitors browsing Concerts and Pop / rock, this Paramount Theatre date offers a distinctly improvisational alternative to a standard rock set.
